Due to issues related about providers of our MD5 Database, we'll provide you a Manual Database Update every month. Each month update will be packed with (est.) 2 patches. We're trying to resolve the problem by talking with Richienb himself but he hasn't responded yet. Until then you should put this database into your PROGRAM_DIRECTORY\wget-1.11.4-1-bin\bin.

v.3.0.0 is coming.

Currently v.3.0.0 is undergoing QC checks as follows;

1. Test with real malware (not-activated)
2. Test with real malware (activated and in safe mode if possible?) - Optional
3. Test script integrity

Once it is done it will be released here.

After this release, the program will be separated into two branches;

1.  3.0.0M (Program with database, large filesize = 1.04GB)
2.  3.0.0L (Program without database, small filesize but need to redo the database fetching)

The updater is coming back!

The updater is coming back from the ruins but now fully revamped to use wget, the most popular program to download the updates from the Dropbox direct link to the program folder flawlessly and instantly, providing you have a stable-enough and a preferred high-speed internet connection.

Database updates will be supplemented automatically before each scan so that you can be guaranteed that you've got the best batch malware scanning engine out there.

Scans will take ridiculous amount of time in future updates so we plan to categorize the scan into 3 types: Full scan, Legacy scan and Recent Malware Scan.

Full scan will cover the whole 29,097,984 (as of the day of this post's research efforts)malicious hashes which could put the scanner up the limits in scanning time of about 1-2 days to cover a single drive scan. Only do this type of scan if you have spare time, a charger or AC adapter in-reach and a lot of malware from the old times and the newer ones mixed together.

Legacy scan and Recent malware scan details will be provided through this website later.

A lot of bug-fixes will be introduced in this update too, so stay tuned for further development news.

We won't move to wordpress

We wont move to Wordpress just yet because I have no time to redo the whole website from scratch. I also liked the way Blogspot/Blogger works flawlessly with blog-styled post and SSL. I won't leave this website for Wordpress until the project gets more popular among security enthusiasts and computer hobbyists. Developers out.

Announcement 2017

1) The download links for all versions of riskremover will be redirected to shorte.st first before going to Dropbox (DD). I'll try and see if this will work well for quite a bit of time. I'm sorry for adding a bit of hassle to your downloading routines but to sustain (well I mean like at least make some cash back from working with this project this hard) and be the starting foundation for the bigger development of this program. I hope you understood this.

2) My next plan for 2017: Updater (Yay!), Full MD5 support, Not supporting filename scan and many other more!

3) I'll be back developing this efficiently once I'm in the next (2017) School Summer break in about 3 months or so!

Studying about MD5

I'm now studying about MD5 and its functions in antivirus scans.

I now know a list of MD5 virus database. It is located here. ( The link is safe and uses https by default )

What I might study next is how antivirus change program codes into MD5 for if exist parameter usage which seems like all websites explain this in alienated language lol.

You may expect the next version of RiskRemover with real MD5 scanning algorithm soon.

Old Story Digging - Updater

For those who wonder why I removed the updater in the v.2.1.1 update.

I accidentally discovered during a updater test run that when my updater sends me to a direct link, the browser asked if we should save the file and in which directory. I was very surprised by the discovery because the automation has a timeout feature which when reaches 0, it will replace the file that we didn't save yet (and save in what directory? each OS has different directory for downloads) and cause it to crash.

AND the major problem is I don't really know how to make the program know which is the lastest version (well we could do that in save/load commands but it would require manual save anyways so no unless we got a wget program) as well.

So hope you guys understood what I've said and bye!

Final Stage

Sorry that the version 2.1.1 wasn't coming out 2-3 months ago. I was in a busy situation and there was some fixes before it was compressed. There is now an installer for this program. (RAR-SFX type) Download link should be able after 30 mins of this post publishing.
